FO: Bicycle Mitts

People love bikes. Specifically, the majority of people in my life love bikes. I have family members who are competitive cyclists. I have friends that bike all over the city all times of year. I have collegues who have participated in RAGBRAI, the famous “Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa”. I know triathletes. People. Love. Bikes.

Scrolling through Instagram one day, I saw that someone had finished a really cool pair of stranded colorwork mittens with bikes on them. When I looked the pattern up on Raverly, I saw that it was a free download and the pattern was called “RAGBRAI Mittens“. Seemed like a perfect match!

I had some leftover Baah! yarn from my Heraldry test knit and decided to whip up a pair of these guys.

Since the pattern is written as a one-size fits all and by a man, I wanted to see what the fit on these would be like. I flew through them pretty quickly and found myself with a lovely pair of mittens in no time. This is definitely going to be added to my “go-to gift pattern” list. On the next go around, I think I’ll go down to a sport weight yarn and use size 2 needles to make a more snug fit.
