Holla Knits Blog Tour & Giveaway :)

Last week, I was thrilled to announce my second pattern published in Holla Knits – the Bowdoin Hat.ย It’s been so encouraging to see the reception of the Warm Weather Accessories Collection and the changes to Holla Knits in this issue. Personally, my heart skipped a beat when I got to the “What’s Your Knitting Spirit Animal” quiz. (I got dog, by the way, which is incredibly accurate.)

But back to my pretty new pattern. Wouldn’t you like to make one for your very own? Of course you would!

That’s why I’m giving away a prize pack that includes:

– A free copy of the Bowdoin Hat pattern
– One skein of KnitPicks Stroll Fingering in Duchess Heather
– One hand-sewn mini-bento bag project carrier (made by yours truly)

It’s the perfect little baggie to carry around one skein of sock yarn and get your Bowdoin finished in a hurry!

Leave your name and tell me how you spent your Memorial Day in the comments and you’ll be entered to win. I’ll announce the winner nextย Monday, June 1st.ย Good luck!

  1. Love this hat! and Knit Picks is my go-to “enabler” for supplies; I have them on speed dial. I spent my Memorial Day knitting (or course!) some really incredibly useless but totally cute Fuzzhogs (pattern by Bee Weir of Crafts from the Dungeon). Over the past week, I’ve finished 17 of the silly things — I may need an intervention. Or another project, such as your Bowdoin hat!

  2. I love that hat! I spent Memorial Day hanging with my family and our neighbors, watching our kids swim and play.

  3. I spent my Memorial Day knitting on my first pi shawl and eating bbq sandwiches, baked beans, and potato salad with my sister.

  4. I spent the Holiday at my parents, swimming in the pool and enjoying hot dogs with my teenagers. When I got home I cast on a second sock for the Ravelry Sock Knitters Anonymous group. It’s in Stroll Glimmer in Fiesta, a bright red with lots of holiday sparkle!

  5. I spent half my day with Veterans at a cemetery for a Memorial Day event, came home relaxed with family and knitted.

  6. Cooped up in a small cottage with a total of 6 adults and 5 kids (6 and under!) for a very rainy day and a half! AAUGGHH! Great to see them all, but not conducive to peace and quiet – or knitting. ๐Ÿ™‚

Gorgeous hat and yarn, btw. One can never have too many hats….

  7. Unfortunately I am in the part of Texas which got some significant rain….so I spent the weekend not doing what we had planned to do.

  8. I love your Bowdoin hat and would love to win your pattern and yarn, and cute bag. I spent Memorial day eating and drinking and knitting with family and friends ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Your hat pattern is really intriguing, I would love to try it. There is no Memorial Day in Canada, our bank holiday was last Monday and we did a lot of cleaning and clearing in the garden.

  10. I spent the day with my family and my brother’s family and friends at a cookout. We had a wonderful time. Afterwards, I went home and spent the rest of the day and evening knitting.

  11. Sadly, the whole family was sick and miserable all weekend. We did sit on the porch in the sun while grumbling and sneezing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Love your hat design! & the bento bag is super cute!
Memorial Day I met a knitting friend at the park & our kids ran around like crazy monkeys & got a frisbee stuck on the roof of the seating area. ๐Ÿ˜› The rest of the afternoon was spent knitting while the kids played hide & seek. ^^

  13. We had a bbq over at my mom’s. I made a really tasty patriotic poke cake. It was nice to relax and eat with the family.

  14. Memorial Day is a big weekend for us. My husband is a disabled Vietnam Vet. We keep it small with family and always, always, either attend a celebration or watch the National Celebration on TV.
