While it was a quiet couple of months here on DoogKnits, my creative life has been rolling along quite nicely! I knocked out several handmade Christmas gifts, did a ton of tiny cross stitch projects, and drank and ate my face off. AND I’ll have plenty of FO posts to share over the next few weeks.

But right now, I’m diving in to 2016 with all kinds of Knit Along news!

Rolling Thunder

RollingThunderLauraMcDougalMasiKnitsHollaKnitsFallWinter2013.2-533x800Over at Holla Knits, I’m leading a KAL of my very first pattern: Rolling Thunder. I’ve been wanting to knit it again in some brighter colors and there’s no time like February 1st – April 29th, amiright? Time to stay in and make some shit!

I’ll be using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes sport in Marina for my Main Color and Caution for my Contrast Color.

Be sure to check out the thread over at Ravelry or just keep checking back here every Monday for progress updates.

As a backer of Great Northern’s kickstarter, I get two patterns in advance today! They’ll also be hosting a KAL starting February 1st and I can’t resist casting on a cropped version of From Another Place.

I’ll be using Knit Picks Swish worsted in Gulfstream and Cornmeal. I’m going pretty ape for blue these days.

Keep track of everyone’s progress on the Rav thread or stay tuned to my Instagram to see how I’m doing!

Mittens with Pints On

I’m leading a casual IRL KAL (omg) with my knit group so we can practice our stranded colorwork skills. (More accurately, I’m trying to force people to love stranded colorwork as much as I do). Spilly Jane’s Mittens with Pints On┬ácombines our love of drinking and knitting in to a totally appropriate project!

We’re casting on this week and will be completing the first row of stout pints this week.

Week One: Check it stout!

Bowdoin Hat

BowdoinHatLauraMcDougalGYHKWarmWeatherAccessories.5 (1)Finally, a little shout out to another Holla Knits KAL happening right now. My Bowdoin Hat pattern is being featured in a KAL hosted by Ashwini J. I won’t be joining the group on this one, but if you’re looking for a fast, delicate looking knit, check it out!
