When I heard that there was going to be a kick-starter for a book called Midwestern Knits co-edited by the super talented Allyson Dykhuizen and Carina Spencer, I was ready to give them all of my money to make the idea a reality. As a life-long Midwesterner, it’s so fun to see a collection geared toward my heritage and my sense of style. And now it’s a real live thing I can hold in my hands!
I’ve been happy to support this book while learning about new designers and amazing yarns from my neck of the woods. What I didn’t quite bargain for was that I’d be called on for my Super Professional Modeling Skillz to help bring one of the patterns to life!
This is Pete the llama (the real star of this photo shoot) with his trusty sidekick Laura in the amazing Furrowed Pullover by Hope Vickman. This was a chilly day with snow surrounding the barn and I was SUPER comfy in that sweater. I’ve been itching to get my hands on the pattern and it’s finally MINE (mwahahaha).
Speaking of hands: Starting September 14, I’ll be leading the Riverwalk Mitts Knit Along as part of the Midwestern Knits KAL Crew! Click over to the board here and get ready to cast on next month!
I have loved being a supporter of this project. I’m so excited to dive in and make the things I’ve been reading about for months! To keep up with the rest of the Blog Tour and upcoming book events, click here!
